Visa on Arrival in Zanzibar?

Hi There
I assume that on arrival at "Zanzibar International Airport" that a single entry visa on arrival (I'm Australian) can be obtained?
It's just that the LP book is not specific but sort of says it should be ok?
Anyone had an experience or know for sure???

Why don't you check on Timatic ?
You can have the information on staralliance.com and check on "Visa &
Health ".
Timatic is provided by IATA and it's used by all the airlines companies.
It's official, accurate and up to date.
I use it when I travel by air.

Hi Mike - yes Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available at Zanzibar International Airport - the fee will be $ 50 US for a single entry visa. What LP are referring to is a practice by both Kenya and Tanzania of informing airlines carrying passengers without visas of their (the airlines) responsibility if the passengers are not admitted to the country. Kenya and Tanzania both have diplomatic representation in Australia - Kenya a full High Commission in Canberra and Tanzania a Consulate in Melbourne where you can get your visas. The only problem is that the visa fees in Australia are about double those payable on arrival and will usually take about 7 or 8 days to process by post. If you live in Melbourne you should be able to get it in 2 days.
One other small issue - are you staging through Nairobi? If so then ensure that you have your Yellow Fever vaccination cards available. Zanzibar has over the past 5-8 years been a bit strict about ensuring that ALL non-citizens have their YF cards, they even apply it to people who arrive via Dar es Salaam. (sorry I have not used this TIMATIC website so can not comment). Cheers
