Visa no longer needed for Canadians

Hello,

But does anyone know when it will be effective? We are travelling on May 10th and are praying that we won't need a visa by then... But can't find any news if it is effective now, or what date it will be effective. I tried to reach UAE embassy without success.

Vague hand-shake diplomatic deals can take awhile to turn into real policy so don't expect to don your hockey skates, visa-free, at the Dubai Mall right away. Still time to drink lots of Tims before the advance visa is consigned to the trash can where it belongs.
