Visa for Australian passport holder who lives in Europe

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Ukraine

Dear travellers,

My Australian girlfriend lives in The Netherlands with me for 10 weeks now.
We are planning to go to the European Championship, so we bought already tickets and have arranged everything except her visa.
We have done some research to aplly for a Visa, but we need some help.

She is holding an Australian Passport and she is staying in The Nerherlands on a Holiday Visa. (She is allowed to work and stay in The Netherlands for maximum one year).

How can she apply for a visa for Ukraine. Must she send her passport to the Ukrainian Embassy in Camberra, or is it possible to get a single way visa for Ukraine by the Ukrainian Embassy in The Netherlands?

When we have to send my girlfriends passport to Camberra, does anyone know the best/safest way to do this? (Name of company etc..

Thanks in advance.

Your sincerely,

Hans

I have Australian friends who successfuly applied for UA visas in London. I suspect it's similar in The Hague. No harm trying there first.

Since your friend has a working holiday visa and thus right of residence for the year, she should be able to apply in the Netherlands for any visa she needs during that time period. One note, some countries won't accept applications for visas within the last three months of a WHV.

Hey guys,

Today we have been gone to the Ukraine Embassy in The Netherlands and she can apply for a visa. We only have to show the original football ticket with her name on it!

Thanks for your help.

Hans
