Viajes Divermex

American guy here planning a 2nd trip to Cuba this summer. Last time, I used Nash Travel, and they gave me the vouchers to pick up my ticket and tourist card from the Viajes Divermex representative who was loitering around the Mexicana ticket desk area in Cancun. Has anyone tried to book with Divermex directly from the states and then pick up the tickets etc. from the rep and then pay him directly there. I'm sure I can't pay with a credit card beforehand as this is part of Havanatur and they can't use US cards. Thanks for any help in advance.

Simply show up in front of the Cubana or Mexicana counter(s) 2-3 hours before the flight your looking for and you'll more than likely run into a nice man named Saul with a Divermex logo on his polo shirt. He's always there and he's usually tinkering around in his brief case and/or talking to customers. If by chance you don't see him ask the counter rep of either airline, they know him and can advise on his whereabouts.

Do a Google, and you will get DiverMex's phone and fax... sure you can do business with them directly, as they are the master agent for HavanTur..note, due to the nature of travel to Cuba they tend to look at reservations (2) weeks out as their core business for attention...DivermMex can only accept cash at the airport, since they have no credit card terminal hoo up there, and can't accept credit cards by phone, to to Mexican anti-fraud regulations by the credit card processors in Mexico. Divermex can accept credit cards at their downtown office since they have a credit card terminal there, in the event you are going to be in downtown Cancum for other stuff.

You have another option - you can go to Mexicana.com and pull up their customer service tel# in Mexico (not in the US) and call Mexicana directly to book a Click flight. Mexicana does accept limited US credit cards by phone (again a anti-fraud thing) but the Click ticket counter at the Cancun airport has a credit card termional and can accpet major US credit cards. Your bill will show "airfare" but NOT show the specific destination. The Click ticket counter also will sell you the Cuba tourist visa/coupon as well.

Have a great second trip - you now know enough to make your 2nd trip a bit smoother form sure.

Just a small correction: I think fabbris is referring to Cuban Havanatur, not Havantur which is an Argentinian company. Just trying to make your web search easier.
