Venice - Biennale in june....hotel help

I just found out that the reason I'm not getting any hotels for less 400e is the art festival starts the day we arive in Venice. Does anyone recomend other cities or towns close by that we could find accomodation for 2nights, something that will be like 30-40 min away from venice ?

I dont know how fussy you are regarding accommodation, but if it is a clean bed, shower and toilet then try the Camping ground caravan park in an onsite van with ensuite. I think it was called Jolly or something like that. We stayed there and it was very cheap and comfortable. The bus stop to Venice is right out front with buses running every 30 mins and costs one euro one way. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to get to Venice and the bus termini is a two minute walk to the main vaparetto stop that takes you into Venice canals.

we're not picky as long as it's a clean facility, how do I look for hostels in venice ??

how far is padova by train or bus ?
