Venezuela - Caracas, Angel Falls any advice?Country forums / South America / Venezuela
I am looking to get from Cartagena into Venezuela by land and get to Angel Falls, any advice on how I might do it, i.e. night bus to Caracas and then another down to Ciuldad Bolivar or is there a better way? Am looking for a good tour company there, any recommendations? Costs etc? Also, any advice on Caracas, is it all cool? Any good, cheap accomodation? Thanks.
A few friends of mine have just come back from Caracas and have said particulary there... safety is becoming a bit of an issue. :) | 1
Hello, Angel Falls is definitely a must! Very cool, great vibes! If travelling by bus from Cartagena, go to Santa Marta from where you can get the bus across the border and into Venezuela. Going to Caracas and then getting the night bus to Ciudad Bolivar is definitley an option. Bear in mind that in the dry season the river Churun, which is one of the rivers you would have to take a 'curiara' on to reach the foot of the falls, dries up making access impossible. I was there last week and there was still quite a biy of water; nevertheless, Sapo falls just of the Canaima lagoon where not as impressive as they are in the peak of the rainy season due to lack of water. However, Hacha falls were great! All the best, | 2
As for Caracas. There are some great places in this city whcih never sleeps. Always be on the look out though. And yes there are some reasonably priced places to stay. Some in areas safer than others. Once again, All the best, | 3
