Varadero resorts- which are good and which should I avoid...

Country forums / Cuba / Cuba

HI,

I plan to spending an AI vacation with a friend in Varadero, Cuba near the end of May. I have an idea on where I want to stay, but still unsure of how good the resorts are on the beach or on where to stay for nightlife. Feel free to respond if you have any suggestions.

The experts on all-inclusive resorts are at Debbies. They are nice friendly knowledgeable folk and will give you a lot more advice and opinions than you will get here.

I'll second Debbie's. It's a very conservative, but very knowledgeable forum that has limitless up-to-date info on the all-inclusive scene.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

We loved the Barcelo Solymar. It is spotlessly clean, right on a beautiful stretch of beach, has lots of bars and 2 pools, great food and is an easy walk to the town. We visited in March 2007 and in our view it couldn't be beaten.

You can do a virtual tour of Varadero with the Cuba Routes Interactive Map, it lists Names and shows Detailed Locations of Lodging, Attractions, Bars, Restaurants, Nautical and other Services

Most of the resorts in varadero are right on the beach ,"but" as far as the best one its a matter of different strokes for different folks and how much one wants to shellout ME after 28 years of varadero I stick to 3 star hotels Its a brand of cheese I can afford without going in hock for twelve months Ifound thar I can have just as much fun and use the same beach: Ihave tried the 4 and five star hotels unless its a real selloff I dont go there ,cubas problem is they let these propertys go to pot in buildings and services.

Are they all good for honeymoon destinations??
