Are there samovars/other hot water supply on the trains from Samarkand to Tashkent, Bukara to Samarkand as is the case in Russia and China? Is food available or is it best to bring your own snacks? Thanks
I travelled by train between Samarkand and Tashkent but didn't notice any samovars..However there was an attendent who served hot drinks and some complimentary meat-filled pastries. If you don't like to eat lamb or meat in general it's best to take your own snacks because those meat pastries were the ONLY snack served, I didn't spot any alternatives. | 1
It depends on what kind or train you're on. The newer trains don't have samavars (although i could be wrong) Like #1 says there are attendants who sell drinks, the price of modernization. If you take one of the older trains, they do have them. | 2
The day train the shark serves hot food and drinks in first class, not sure about the second but I would atke your own. The night trains are grim, you may get a pot of tea for each vagon. the toilets are grim with no running hot water, at least the bedding they give you is clean | 3
