US Baseball Season

Country forums / United States of America / United States

Hi, this is probably a common question but when is the US baseball season? I will be in Boston in August and would love to see the Red Sox play, is there any chance?? Forgive me as I'm from England and don't know! Thanks

go here and click on 'schedule'. Major League Baseball is played from April-Spetember/October usually.

Thankyou!

You may want to order the tickets in advance. The Red Sox will be very competitive and they play in one of the smaller venues. There is a good possibility that tehy will be sold out well in advance.

yes, It's almost a sure thing they will be sold out......and getting them from scalpers after that depends on who they are playing, day of the week, and how the season is going but almost certainly will mean paying well over face value. Definitely get them in advance if you can.

Use the link here for August tickets in advance.
Use the print ticket at home option if you have a printer. It will require a US address (you can use your hotel or any other address it doesn't matter) then you get an e-mail with a PDF you can print. If you can't print them at home select "Will Call" and you can pick your tix up before the game. at least this is how at works on the Rockies website..

Good luck.

If you don't really know the rules of Baseball, have a quick read up before you go.
I took my girlfriend to Coors Field the last 2 years (she's Swiss) the first time she had no idea, 2nd time she read up before we went, and she really enjoyed it..

takes a lot of getting use to down-time,
in base ball the game stops for tv ads

Red Sox tickets are really difficult to get. There are still limited tickets available - if you really wish to go, you should order asap.

If none are available, you still have a few choices and unfortunately the easiest one is to pay exorbitant prices with the bastard ticket agencies or buy them off the mercenaries of ebay or craigslist or stubhub.com. You can get them from a scalper before the game though, again, expensive and you'd be taking the word of the scalper of the tickets' authenticity and/or seat location.

The other option is to get day-of-game tickets. The Red Sox always put a few hundred tickets on sale then. The ticket office for this is Gate C on Landsdowne Street. You do have to get there early though but the length of the line depends on how well the Sox are doing on that particular season. ;-) The times that tickets go on sale seem to change from year to year but you can call the Red Sox (877-REDSOX9) when you get to Boston and they can tell you.

Good luck!
