'Unclimbable'

Interest forums / Trekking & Mountaineering

Can anyone think of peaks that has never been reached by man, hence would be a good daring challenge? It doesnt apply to different routes up a mountain or different faces.

Near Hunza, Pakistan peak or peaks called three fingers or ladies fingers etc , I Have pictures of them . Have not been scaled (1999) due to............ MIGHT BE JUST A LOCAL STORY........

There are many unclimbed peaks in the world. There are some left even in the lower 48 states int he USA, believe it or not. Some of the major peaks are still unclimbed because of religious matters. Such examples are Kailas Tibet and Macchupucchare Nepal. The north peak of of Broad Peak at 8011 meters, which China recognizes as a seperate peak, but many other mountaineers don't, is still un-climbed. Maybe you could try that one.

Go to Kyrgyzstan or Tajikistan. Along the Pamir HWY most of
the 5000m peaks have never been scaled....

3

bet that dozens of peaks in the Cordillera Real and Cord. Apolobamba (Bolivia) higher than 5000 m are still unclimbed

4

A lot of above 5,000 m peaks even near Everest aren't even named and unclimbed of course. The same applies to inner Pamir (#3 is right).

Have a nice climb!
Igor.

There are thousands of peaks in Alaska that are unclimbed but for helicopters. Minor summits in the Chugach, Alaska, White, Wrangell and St. Elias ranges are all virgin.

6

I would like to do a mountaineering skills course similar to what Alpine Guides of NZ etc offer yet somewhere further afar such as India or Kyrgyzstan. Anybody got any ideas/contacts?
