Uganda to Sudan overland (and back again)

I'm thinking of making a round trip from Uganda to Juba sometime and am hoping to get some details of the journey in either direction (transport, visas, etc). I particularly need to know if it's possible to get a South Sudan permit/visa at the border at how much it will cost.
