Hi | ||
Accom will be your biggest budget buster. Your best bet might be to look at one of the local Balinese homestays called "losmen." Walk in and see if you like it..don't need to necessarily commit to more than a week or so at a time. You will learn more about Balinese culture and life and It will also be much more rewarding than just hanging out with other backpackers. If you look at any of the neighborhoods just outside the "downtown" area it will also be more relaxing, say Nyuh Kuning, Jalan Bisma, Sanggingan or thereabouts. More importantly, good travel medical and evacuation insurance. Also November through Feb is generally the rainiest and most hot/humid part of the year... | 1

Hi | 3 | |
It's unknown what will happen with Gunung Agung. It very likely will erupt but how long, how much ash, wind direction and so forth are all up to Mother Nature. The more flexible with your plans the better. You can always do some travelling to other islands and areas still in Indonesia but not necessarily Bali or Lombok. Java is fairly easy to get to overland and by ferry for example. | 4
Thank you for your reply....Looking forward to UBUD..and the Island | 5
