Accommodations at the budget level of travel on Bali are extremely cheap and also extremely plentiful: You will pay approximately U.S. $ 5 for a single room (with a small breakfast) OR approximately U.S. $ 8 for a double room with a small breakfast. You will not be camping out. For for this style of accommodation there is usually a big overheat fan with 5 setting or at least a strong desk-top fan, but no air-conditioning, no swimming pool (but sometimes a nice garden), no carpeting, no toilet paper (buy your own), no towels (use your own), and a sparcely decorated room. A few dollars more gets you more amentities. How much you spend really depends on what level of comfort you want and feel you need. | 1
Sorry for Mis-spelling: Big Overhead Fan with 5 settings (slow to fast) | 2
Yeah, Kuta/Legian/Seminyak usually has some good beach breaks, suitable for all standards. Kuta reef, towards the airport is okay if you feel a bit more adventurous. | 3
