Tubakula Beach Bungalows and Crows in Fiji with 2 &4 y.o.

Interest forums / Kids To Go

Hi All,

We're booked in to Tubakula Beach Bungalows and Crows nest for a week each in early October. As best I can figure they are fairly close to each other either side of the 5 star Outrigger. The prime objective of the holiday is to mostly kick back, relax and play with the kids (2 & 4 y.o.). If anyone has any pearls of wisdom related to Tubakula, Crows Nest or the local area, please feel free. Also we've got a 2000 Fiji L.P. guide - is it worth buying the new one? (no we don't slavishly follow it but we do find them a useful reference)

Anyway... Good places to eat? Is the coral coast railway trip to the beach worth a go? Is Sigatoka worth a trip? etc etc etc...

If you've got an opinion or some info - I'm happy to listen

Thanks

Michael :o)

Michael,

Tubakula is great. Its one of the oldest tourist hotels in Fiji, one of the first. I believe it's about 30 years old now.

I first stayed in the Tubakula in 1982. I last stayed there in August, last year. And I'm going there again in September, this year.

Your children will love it, mine certainly did last year, four-year-old and 11-year old.

Tubakula is very relaxed. Has a nice pool. And a good communal room where the children can place table tennis. In the evening, they usually put on a DVD for those who are interested. Very pleasant staff and good restaurant too.

You can walk up the beach (west, towards Sigatoka) and go to the Outrigger (five star) which is pretty much next door. There, you can buy icecreams for the children etc - good fun! Some very nice restaurants at the Outrigger too if you feel like spending a bit more for a meal.

Sigatoka is a cheap taxi ride away. Worth a visit I think. Take a look at the market. Walk along the river, very pleasant.

You will definitely be able to kick back and relax - enjoy!

Mark.
