Trips around Cusco

Country forums / South America / Peru

Hello there!

I am planning a trip to Peru in one month. I will also stay in Cusco due to acclimatization. Do you have any recommendation or advices for one-two day easy trips in surroundings of Cusco?

Thank you for your replies

Highly recommend La Montaña De Siete Colores, Sacsayhuamán and the ruins nearby, and you can find lots of travel angencies there, just pick one and enjoy your one day trip. Have fun!

Is possible to reach it on my own? :)

I am not sure you can make it or not, but if you give it a try, yes you can.

You can easily visit the Sacsayhuamán ruinas above Cusco on your own, and you can use shared transport to go cheaply to many places in the Sacred valley too, like Pisac, Urubamba, Ollataytambo, many more. For the Mountain of 7 colors, I think you need a tour group for that.

Hi there!

If you're looking for easy trips around Cusco, I'd recommend you a city tour which lasts 4-5 hours as well as a Sacred Valley tour which consists in visiting Pisac (an archaeological site 30 Km from Cusco ), the Ollantaytambo fortress and the colorful village of Chincheros. Don't forget to rest a few hours upon your arrival in order to acclimatize you.
Don't hesitate to get back to me if you want. Ramiro.

Hi I'll be in the Sacred Valley at the end of December and am looking for transport from Cusco airport to Urubamba with stops to see a couple of sights along the way. Then the next couple of days, I'm interested in visiting other sights in the Sacred Valley. Are there any tours you would recommend that I can contact now? Thanks!
