Trip report Mersing and Tioman Island

I've just returned from a brief trip to Tioman and have some comments:
(1) In Mersing the Hotel Embassy is great value at RM55 for a double with a/c and private bathroom.
(2) On Tioman the beach at ABC is very rocky, ie little sand, and unsuitable for casual swimming except at absolute high tide.
(3) I stayed at Swiss Garden Resort at the south end of Tekek. This was a lovely place with good beach.
(4) The trek from Tekek to Juara was lovely, particularly as I started in the early morning. It takes about 2.5 hours.
(5) Juara is paradise on earth, worth any extra expense to get there.

Thanks for the report.I like Juara a lot too,and I've also stayed at the Swiss Garden (a very nice place for a few days relaxation).

Is there still that barbecue restaurant across the road? That was a great place....

I'm interested to know about the sand flies situation at Juara in October ? I've stayed in Juara several times during different months but never in October and sand flies have always been a problem.
