trekking suggestions

Country forums / Scandinavia & the Nordics / Norway

I am looking at doing a short trek (2-3 days) in Norway in June. The Fjords are my first choice but I can be convinced otherwise if is more convenient as I will be flying in from continenent. Ideally I would like to do between 20-30km a day, something difficult with nice views and using cabins/lodges, rather than camping.

I have been searching online and found many options, but I am interested in peoples experiences and suggestions.

Cheers!

Hi

There are lots of brilliant options for hiking in Norway. The main issue you will find is that most places demand a bit of in land travel and you might find 2/3 days is a bit short. If you don't mind a coach journey I would suggest Besseggen in Jotunheimen or Galdhopiggen in the same area. Have a look at turistforeningen.no which gives you plenty of ideas for trips and practical advice. The website is both in english and Norwegian. Norway is expensive but wild camping is allowed as long as you place you tent 50 meters from any building so should save some cost...
