Hi guys, Has anyone suggestions on which area to prioritise; possible routes, and how to access to these areas? Thanks for your help.
Hi i went out to Ala Archa canyon yesterday (21km from Bishkek) and only had time for the 1km or so walk to the river but there are longer walks to the waterfalls etc but totally recommend there at the moment, esp if youre into photography of beautiful landscapes, as the autumn colours are out with poplars turned yellow and lots of other bushes around going orange and red and its really beautiful - the river is a very pretty blue theres a hotel there and camping available | 1
Hi, For Karakol, I was using CBT for a multi-days trek. Michel | 2
Thank you, looking forward to exploring these. Has anyone ideas for multi day treks around Karakol and Sary Chelek? | 3
Hi, You can check with CBT or Shepperd Life. Michel | 4
Arslanbob yesterday a beautiful, amazing place. I met a CBT guy who is going to email me his address so he would be a good contact if you need. | 5
Thanks for all these ideas. | 6
For trekking, try to avoid the agencies (even the CBT) as they do not give good value for money. I advise you to buy a map and go on your own. Best way to roam in Kyrgyzstan is to rent a car (quite cheap in Bichkek, we got on for 20$/day). Beware of the police, they ask for bribes, I paid the first time, but then I just flat out refused and want on my merry way, I did not have problems but I knew my embassy would have my back. Check with yours first. Maps can be bought in GeoID in Bichkek (Kievskaia street). | 7
