Trekking around Merida - Traversia & Mucuposadas - Sabana GrandeCountry forums / South America / Venezuela
Hi everyone, Is the Traversia around Merida ok to do alone with a map or is the path very tricky to find ? * Are the Mucuposadas treks proposed by Andes Tropicales also doable alone or do you need a guide ? ** In the Gran Sabana, do you think it's worthwhile to get to Kavanayen to trek or are there better options around Auyan Tepuis (I guess this last one is mainly by boat). * Note that i have previous experience in trekking (W, EBC, Cordillera Blanca, etc) so the main issue I want to know about is if the path are more or less easily followed or if you really need to work with compas, etc... thanks in advance for your feedback
Hi Bruno, Thanks for taking an interest in Vzla. As for the Mucuposadas you necessarilly have to do this with Andes Tropicales, on foot or on a mule. They provide the guides. The offer 5 different treks lasting from 3 to 10 days max. If you are in the Gran Sabana, close to Kavanayen, why not do the Roraima Trek, eparting from Santa Elena. The Auyan Tepui you can climb up from Kavac/Uruyen to which you fly from Ciudad Bolivar, not Kavanayen. Hope you find this info useful. All the best, Thomas | 1
