Travelling to Gulu

Hi Everyone
I am traveling to Gulu for a few days in December. What is the best way to get there from Kampala? Are there any flights, or is the road in good condition and safe? Also, what hotels are recommended?
Any idea of the weather at this time of year?

It's either very hot or very wet in Gulu. Hot most of the times.
There's a direct bus from Kampala, leaving from the bus park. Takes about 7 hours. Roads are okay, the speedbumps are not. Other than that, it's a nice trip and Gulu is a nice place. For hotels try the search button, a few months ago there was a topic about Gulu accommodations.

The roads are tarmac from Kampala to Gulu with only a few bumpy areas. I'd recommend taking the Post Bus. It leaves from the main Kampala Post Office on Kampala -- Jinja Road at 8:00 am sharp Monday through Friday. Its safer, newer and it always leaves on time.
