Travelling from Plettenberg Bay to Cape Town

Country forums / Africa / South Africa

I am a 'more mature' female budget traveller planning to travel from Plett to CT on the Baz Bus early January. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and can give me a few tips especially on great 'hop off' spots, accommodation and any other useful tips. Thank you :)

How many days have you got for the trip?

There are only about 8 stops between the two you mention, and IMHO all of them have something worth seeing.

Which is the 'best' willl depend on you and your interests I guess......personally if you have time,I'd stop in Wilderness,Oudtshoorn (from George),Hermanus and Stellenbosch for sure.

Nearly all the main bus lines travel Port Elizabeth to Cape Town and stop at Plettenberg Bay. Look at:
http://www.intercape.co.za/
http://www.translux.co.za/ - City to City is same company cheaper and most frequent but least luxurious

All of these you should book on-line at Computicket where you can compare prices and times on a particular date :

Thanks for your response Lucapal, I will have 5-6 days on the BazBus after a week in Plett and maybe up to 2nights in George (will join Baz Bus in George). Already planned to spend time in Stellenbosch and will also check out the other suggestions you have made. Cheers :)
