Travellers to France ....

Interest forums / Kids To Go

You may have already been to France, but I need some insight from all those 'on the move'! I'm cross threading this too.

As a traveller, from my own experience, you want somewhere cheap to stay that is clean and basic ... a little off the beaten track maybe as long as it doesn't mean walking for miles with your 20kg pack in the blistering heat.

WHAT do you WANT?
Would a small hostel that caters for 15 suit you? Breakfast? Local pool within 5mn walk? Cooking facilities? Laundry? TELL me some more!!!

WHAT would you PAY?
Here's the question! What is it worth for one night to stay in a clean, well-run hostel? Or for that matter a week? For those with children, would a family room suit you?

HOW far would you GO?
If it was in the countryside? Access to transport service? Are you looking for history? Tranquility? Relaxation? Somewhere with sporting activities on hand? Fishing? Cycling? Tennis? Swimming? Kayaking? Do you want a local bar? Restaurant? Or is your budget too tight for that? Are you happy to bring your own food & drink?

WHAT ANNOYS YOU in other hostels? Where do you see their mis-management?

As you can see, I do have something formulated but need to see if there is really a demand for it ..... tell me what has annoyed you in the past and what you expect, what you would like to see in a backpackers? I would like to develop something in a wonderful place that is special and leaves an imprint on the guest's mind ...

I've stayed in a cockroach infested room in Tallin, a collapsing building in Ulan Bataar, a dingy basement in Beijing and a damp dump in Varanasi!!!! But then I've also stayed in some incredible temples in Japan, a great hostel in southern Estonia and a wonderful beach hut at Paje Ndame, Zanzibar ...

The formula needs to be right and I'd love your insight!!!

Thanks and enjoy your next trip!
