Traveling to Dhaka from Nepal, India

Country forums / Indian Subcontinent / Bangladesh

I plan to travel from Bangkok to Kolkuta, and from there spend time i;n Dhaka, Darjeeling and Katmandu. I would appreciate information on the best way to travel between these places, and the best, or most efficient, route. From my last stop, I want to return to some major city in Europe, so I am sure I will need to fly out. I am leaving soon and will spend one or two months total. I am also wondering about getting a Bangledesh Visa in Bangkok. Thanks for any information.

Considering ur plan i wl suggest u to come dhaka first, spend some days then go to kolkata by bus or train. From kolkata u can go to darjeeling by bus/train. After finishng darjeeling trip, u can go kathmandu through kakorvita border by bus. From kathmandu u can fly to ur home. If u do this, u can avoid double entry visa hassle of India.

If u need any specific info, feel free to ask me.

Reg BD visa in Bkk, as far as i know, it is easy to get the visa. It takes 2 days to issue the visa.

Depending on your nationality, you can probably get an on arrival visa at the airport in Bangladesh. Last I heard, that facility was reintroduced after the government's decision of easing travel regulations to attract more travellers into the country. However, try to get in touch with your nearest Bangladeshi representative, wherever you are, as they are known to change such regulations from time to time...very random, I know!

On a positive note, this is the perfect time to travel there, as the weather is very pleasant and festivities taking place all around the country!
