Travel through Iran on transit visa?

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this.
I'm taking a train from London to India and have to travel through Iran before exiting on the train. I'm not staying in the country longer than the train journey. Can I organise a transit visa independently?

(1) What passport are you using?

(2) There is no passenger train between Iran and Pakistan at this time.

(3) Road travel between Zahedan (IR) and Quetta (PK) is quite dangerous, especially on the PK side of the border.

(4) You will need to get your visa for Pakistan in your country of residence, or forget about trying to get there.
