Trans Kalahari HighwayCountry forums / Africa / Namibia
We are about to travel to Namibia and surrondings in the end of Januar. We are thinking about taking the Trans Kalahari Highway from Namibia and south east to Gaborone and Johannesburg. None of us have a drivers licence and we´re thinking about taking a buss or something similar and stay some nights in some of the villages allong the way. Does any one have any suggestions on accomodations along the highway? Any suggestions on what to do and where to stay in Windhoek? Best Regards
I would buy a good guide book and learn something about the country if I were you, I doubt many buses go that route - few people go that way, mainly trucks to South AFrica.. Buses are mainly local, ...... or long distance, eg Cape town to Vic Falls...visiting tourist attractions en route, usually nowhere near villages. Very few people in namibia, so very few buses. | 1

Chameleon Backpackers are a good central place to stay. I enjoyed our time there this year. They also have info on buses and tickets for some routes can be bought directly there. They also offer day trips and longer safaris and can advise about things to do in the city itself. | 3
