Tourist visa for UAE and multiple entry?

Country forums / Middle East / United Arab Emirates

Hi,

I've searched the links in the FAQ here, but can't find an answer to this particular question.

We're flying into the UAE in December and have one week before flying out again from the same airport. As Irish citizens, it seems we get an automatic one time 30 day entry visa. However, we would like to hire a car and drive to Oman. Will this 30 day visa cover us, or will we need a second one/different one at the airport to cover us going out to Oman and then back to UAE a few days later? (Edited to add: I realise we get a different visa for Oman at the border, my question is will they let us back into the UAE on the original airport-issued single entry UAE visa. Sorry for the confusion).

We'll only be in the region for 7 days total, so we won't be going over the 30 days.

Thank you. :)

You will get a new stamp (visa) in your pasport upon return to the UAE. It is all straight forward and automatic.

You'll be fine. You'll get a new visa upon arrival as as poster number one said.

We did the same thing only we flew between the UAE and Oman and it was fine!

we have a very similar situation and the first question would have been the same - so thanks for answering this.

Anyway, my second question is: we are not only going back into the UAE (to drop off co-travellers), but will come back into Oman again (also the whole trip will be within a 28 day period). Will we have to get a 2nd Omani visa or can we get a multiple entry visa at the border. Has anyone ever done so? Do you need passport pictures etc.?

You cant get an Omani multiple entry at the border, so you will need to get another entry visa second time around. No need for any photos, just fill in the form and pay the money.

Thanks for the replies and reassurance folks. Glad it's so straightforward. Greatly looking forward to our trip!
