Tissa, Bundala Nat Park & Kataragama full moon days

I'm after some thoughts on visiting Bundala Nat Park and wondering if it is currently open and if anyone has some recommendations for a tour into the park with a friendly reliable guide, camping, what I might get to see at this time of the year etc etc. I thought I'd stay at Vikum Lodge but phone no does not seem to connect. Anyone know if it is open, have an e-mail for them or phone number?

I also plan to stay in Kataragama and wonder if anyone knows what are the full moon days in Dec and early Jan and somewhere reasonable and clean to stay?

Dec 23rd Unduwap poya.
Jan 22nd Duruthu poya
Theres also Thai Pongal on the 15th jan (which is great, worshipping cows etc)
and a muslim holiday 21st December
