I don't know about the Tica bus. But microbuses leave (when full) from Mercado Israel Lewites to Leon and from UCA to Granada. Price is 40 Cordobas.

From Managua get the UCA bus.

You can get on and off the Tica bus in both Granada and Leon. In Leon, you get dropped off on the main road just outside of town and you head in via a taxi. It's really not that complicated. But I don't know, you'd probably be more at home on the chicken buses. :P
