Thong Nai Pan Noi or Thong Nai Pan Yai ?

Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

I all :-)

I will be in Koh Pha Ngan, early May. I use to go to Thong Nai Pan Noi, Baan Panburi guesthouse. My spy in KPG tell me the new constructions of Baan Panburi are not finished :( If you was at TNPN beach there is a few, or you live around, can you tell me more to make my choice ?

I want to discover Thong Nai Pan Yai too. But i want a quiet beach life, note the urban noises of contructions when i want to sleep late in my bungalow or on the beach.

Star Hut bungalows guesthouse (TNPN) is always open ?

Just come back from south India, Andamans island. Discover my set about Havelock and Radah Nagar beach (#7).

you can try candle huts, pingjun, or dolphin bungalows on thong nai pan yai

...depends on what you are looking for really

2

lol # 3 - I am a TNPN fan, but i am not a fan of noises of construction. Do you know if Baan Panburi's are finish or very noisy girllrig ? I am just looking for a quiet beach for the day. Eat seafood BBQ, go to chill-out bars, be lazy, meet other travelers...

# 2 - I am not a good bike driver and the road is always dirty in the north-east of Koh Pha Ngan !

3

I stayed at Star Huts on TNP Noi in late march and there was no construction happening nearby (only construction was further back in the village). Unless construction has started since then (which is possible as now coming into rainy season), it might still be okay.

4

i don't know about construction noise on noi beach as i rarely go over there. but if you want a nice quiet place on yai beach, try either pop bungalows or dolphin bungalows on the beach, or paradise garden resort on the jungle side of the village in TNPY.

5

geez #6 you are on a roll... something bad must have happened to you in thong nai pan- care to share?

6

well then you aren't very imaginative, sorry. you can swim, kayak, hang around in your hammock with a book, go hiking to bottle beach or than sadet, walk around and talk to the people in the village, make some friends, have a little tea at the waterfall, coffee in the village. search the shops for khanom. lay on the beach, play with the dogs, traipse through the jungle looking for snakes and frogs, eat at various little joints, get a massage, do yoga, practice dj'ing in one of the bars- or for that matter drink, dance, and socialize in them. watch the firecrackers and twirlers at night. check your emails or watch movies. sounds like plenty to me.

#9 - Don't forget frisbee. Or body-surf (well, on Noi, when the waves are up). And that old chestnut: take someone for a romantic nighttime swim in the phosphoresence. ;)
OP - As far as I'm aware there wasn't any new construction to be taking place at Star Huts, just up at Baan Pan Buri (their new Buri Rasa resort, I think). At Star Huts, they were building one new hut on the beach by bungalow #1, (a #0 as it were), by the river, but that's about it.

8

oh yeah and play pool, get a tattoo, stuff like that. lately you can even rent jetskis or go parasailing!
