anyone here a fan? | ||
Yeah I watch Amazing Race. But, like Survivor, it seems to be just more of the same. You have an "older couple" (usually at least in their 60's), you have the "hot" blondes, you have a mother-son (or father-daughter) team, you have two geeks, etc... The only thing different this year is they took beer-swilling frat boys instead of the token muscled jocks. | 1
I used to love it but Satyr nailed the current problem in post #1- too much inter-couple bickering and stereotypical teams and not enough info and coverage about where they are and what they are doing. I still watch, but if I get a phone call or want to start dinner I don't particularly care about missing big chunks of it. | 2
I was a big fan at the beginning and for the first few seasons, but now there's way too much manipulation to keep everyone equal. The editing is really lame too. Then again, what can stay hot for that many seasons? Snooze... | 3
But they visit different countries and do different tasks, which makes it worthwhile. survivor is more boring and unreal to me, LOL.... | 4
Love The Amazing Race! Maybe I'm not up to the sick of it stage yet as I missed the first seven seasons (due to living in a country that didn't have it). Just waiting for the next one to start here. | 5
i think they lack good-looking people in this new season.... | 6
#6 - I second that. The tags they give the teams are a joke. There are the "Divorcees" and the "Southern Belles". What does a Southern Belle do, exactly (especially when there's nothing special about her)? And who the heck wants to go through life being thought of as the divorcee? | 7
maybe southern belles are just blonde gals with a southern accent? | 8
survivor always have hot bods to show.... | 9
It's easier for Survivor to showcase hot bodies since they tend to be in warm climates (and not anywhere near a place requiring a dress code). The girls usually end up in a bikini the whole time. | 10
yeah, so sexist, lol.... | 11
What surprises me is how liberated most of those women appear to be. Judging by all the editing, it seems there are a lot of exposed boobs, butts and camel toes during the show. You'd think they would come ready for the game, but the 2004 Olympic gold medalist showed up wearing a dress. Not much on brains, her. | 12
that's part of the attraction of the show, i guess, though i hardly see that as liberation. it's not like they were exposing boobs & butts & all.... you guess would never guess who was at the pitt stop in today's episode....;p | 13
I don't mean that the show is liberating. I'm saying that they pick very liberated women, to be exposing so much flesh on what is a nationally televised, prime-time show. You mean Phil's dad, yes? I saw that, for sure. | 14
i don't think they expose that much anyway, say compared to baywatch or whatever....nothing beyond the ordinary, imho.... yeah, what a pleasant surprise, phil's old folk being there, lol.... | 15
