Thailand in May

Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

My boyfriend and I are currently looking at a possible trip in mid-May. I see that this begins monsoon season and weather can be tricky. We are hoping to do some hiking through jungles and spend some time on beaches, a few places we were most interested in were Koh Chang, Ko Kut, and Tarutao. We are currently looking for thoughts on a trip at this time, would any of these places be better to visit? Is a trip at this time possible without being completely rained out? All thoughts, information, and experience welcome. Thanks!

Possible to visit Ko Chang and Ko Kood (Kut) at that time - more likely to be rained out later in the year rather than May , not sure about Tarutao - some islands close during the wet season.
