Do you know of a place where someone could watch England's World Cup rugby match on the 8th? Preferably with a decent breakfast in front of them?

Temple Bar area would be convenient.

Cheers

Fitzsimons Hotel may be a good bet? http://www.fitzsimonshotel.com/

In fact they are doing RWC breakfast specials. How good is that? Welcome to Dublin! Fáilte!

That looks perfect! Doesn't look like they're taking advance bookings yet, but I'll keep an eye on the website.

Many thanks.

2

Thanks Jack. But we're staying in a hostel, so even if there's a TV in the common room, it's not necessarily possible that we'll be able to control what's on. And breakfast there amounts to toast and....toast...

3

It's on normal terrestrial TV as well (RTE 2) so if you're staying in a hotel you could probably watch it from the comfort of your own bed, if necessary...

4

all the Wetherspoons pubs will be showing it-even better if you can find a Walkabout thats gong to show it-if living in London look in TNT magazine for the ad's.

5

Ah. I'm guessing this is appearing on the generic UK and Ireland branch. Sorry #5. I posted this on the Ireland 'twig', and wasn't specific enough. Temple Bar is in Dublin. While there might be a single Wetherspoons, according to google there's no Walkabout.

6

Leela, head to Walkabout just off Grafton Street if it is still there....it will be open and you will get a good feed!

7

There are no Wetherspoons and Walkabout has gone for a walk elsewhere! (no offence Perthdriver) It's called something else now but still shows rugby and will be big on the RWC! I think it may be called "Sinotts":

Thanks, both of you. Seems like it won't be too hard to find it. Cheers.

I don't know if this is the best place to ask a question like this, because this is a travel forum. For more general kinds of questions I would use Yahoo! Anwers. Here's a link for the website: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com
Anyway I hope I somewhat helped!

Of course it's the best place. yahoo answers is rubbish.

We ended up at Fitzsimons, stiophan. Which was great, except it was full of French people! And given how the match went, that wasn't fun. As soon as the match was over they burst into a hearty rendition of the Marseillaise, and we beat a hasty retreat!

Anyway - thanks for your help, Ireland branch. It's been a good weekend.

Hey I was just trying to help :/. I find Yahoo! Answers useful for this kind of stuff. It's just this forum is more used for tourism questions rather than where to watch a match.
Anyway I hope you found the right place to watch the match and that you enjoyed it :)!

Graham this forum along with boards.ie and couchsurfing.com are the perfect places to get this kind of info. I'm sure your help is appreciated though!

Sorry Grahame. I thought you might be a yahoo spammer, but obviously not,

It's just that I find this place is great for anything to do with anything one might want to do in a city - not just the tourism stuff. And the responses are almost always accurate, I've found Yahoo answers to be very inaccurate - to the point of being totally wrong. Thanks though.
