Tashkurgan-Sost busInterest forums / On Your Bike
Hello fellow cyclists, I am riding the Karakoram highway in Pakistan in about 2 weeks as a part of my world tour. I was looking for some information about the bus from Tashkurgan to Sost and I'm assuming it is still illegal to ride over the pass. My questions are.. Thanks a lot
Maybe this reply a bit late...
I am pretty sure they will fit everybody who wants to go on that little bus. I think it was daily trip. You get the ticket from the immigration/customs compound few ks down the road from town. I didn't try it was snowing up there but I will doubt that they will let you out without the stamp. You will also need to pay $8 for going through the park even though you in a bus. You obviously can backtrack after getting your stamp. cheers! | 1
I was able to bribe a Chinese driver to let me off at the pass and I rode back to Sost. But that was back in 1995 and things were easier then. | 2
