Surfside inn Santa Catalina

Hi, has anyone stayed in the surfside inn in Santa Catalina recently? I know it used to be called Punta Brava and had lots of negative reviews, but their website says it now has new owners and has had a revamp. I'm tempted by it as it has a good location and is in our budget.

If you know anything can you let me know thanks:)

I just spent 4 days at Surfside Inn and it was great. No problems as all. Clean, quiet. Good view of the point break. Includes free kitchen use, coffee in the morning and free wifi all day (some hostels charge extra or try to limit your wifi use).

Extra notes:
1) Internet speed SUCKS everywhere in town and some worse then others
2) The three "supermarkets" in town are TINY with a VERY limited selection so bring your own food if you plan to cook.
