Surfing Tips

Hi,

We are travelling to Sri Lanka at the end of this month and will be staying 3 weeks to a month, spending most of the time in the south west.

I would like advice on 2 places that would be great to base ourselves, where surf is reliable and beyond beginner level, but not to reefy! We have a 3 year old child so that is something for us to consider, it would be great for him to be able to paddle and npt be washed away! Is there a particular spot that shouldn't be missed, does anyone know of any great beach accommodation (with aircon..for the little one).

We prefer not to touristy and like pretty relaxed and laid back - we hope to rent motor bikes, so travelling to towns etc shouldn't be an issue. We will also need to rent a surf board for the majority of our stay, if anyone has any suggestions of places/people that would be great.

Does anyone have any experience of Midiha and the surf there?
