Stuck with Sri Lankan rupees

Hi, we left Sri Lanka with still 9K and some rupees in our pockets.
We are now in northern Vietnam, heading to China in a week or two. We've tried to exchange it in many different places throughout Asia but it seems no one will take it. Any idea what to do?

You can try in Hong Kong - head to the Chungking Mansions and ask some of the money exchange shops there (but do be careful if you do exchange money there!). If they're not interested in your Sri Lankan funny money, I can't imagine you'll find anyone else willing to take it off of you. I hope you've at least learned yourself a lesson here...

Other places where you could exchange (if you are passing that way) are Dubai airport, Mustafa in Singapore and in KL.

I see from your profile that you are Canadian. In Toronto you can exchange them in the Sri Lankan shops in Mississauga.

There are more places you can exchange SLRs in Malaysia. Finding a good exchange rate is more difficult.
Maybe try a moneychanger in the big TESCO supermarkt complexes.
