Storage in the UK

My partner and I are travelling for 6+ months from the new year and to save money on our extortionate london rent we are thinking of putting the majority of our belongings into storage - however, want to find the cheapest option which clearly isnt going with the big companies such as Big Yellow and Alligator. Ive come across http://www.storagecollect.co.uk/ but im not sure if it is a viable option. Any suggestions?

Just ask plenty of questions... and don't forget to budget for the costs of removal, and for all the costs of getting a flat when you eventually return.

I'm currently using Attic Storage (http://www.atticstorage.co.uk) - my stuff is locked up in Stratford. It has 24 hour access via PIN keypad, it's clean and dry. They have a couple of sites across East London (you didn't say where in London).

We used Ready Steady Store in Eastleigh for a year or so - couldn't fault them, did what it said on the tin.

remember you need to insure the stuff as well. Don't even think of container storage, your stuff needs to be in a proper climate controlled warehouse.

might also be worth sending it away from London.
