steppe for 2 weeks

Hello,

we are traveling overland with our small daughter (3 years old) from Belgium to Vietnam, and are looking for a place to be in Mongolia for around 2 weeks. We are now in Olkhon Island, Russia, and are crossing into Mongolia on the 28th of August. We would like to stay in the steppe, with it's open wilderness in a yurt (ger), preferably with a Mongolian family around.

We don't need guided tours and all that, just want to be in the steppe, help out in the daily life, and maybe ride horses :) We are traveling in a budget and are looking for something accordingly.
After that we need to go into Ulan Bator to catch a train to China. So a place not too far (but also not too close) from the capital would be preferable. Does anyone have contacts/suggestions? We would love to hear!
