Stay at the Eucalyptus Pension while in Patara

I just spent a wonderful week in Patara, Turkey. It is a small village along the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. While there I stayed at the Eucalyptus Pension. It is a small, family run pension with 12 rooms. Each room has a private bath and air conditioner. The best part of the place was the grape arbor covered dining area and the covered veranda. Also, the price for a single can be anywhere from just 25 down to 15 lira a night. It depends on how many customers are there and your bargaining skills. In genereal, Patara is an amazing place. The ruins are getting better every year as more and more excavation takes place. And then there is the beach. It is 20 km long and 50 meters wide. It is totally undeveloped and if big enough so that you can have privacy if you like. Nude sunbathing and swimming is not uncommon on the more remote areas of the beach. I was totally naked every day. It was simply great!!!

That sounds like the average pension in patara. But Patara is a grest place.

Patara is the the Georgian word for "little". I wonder if its connected.

This is Rick again. A real person, an American living in Istanbul. I went to Patara with a Turkish friend who had been there once before. He called the pension where he'd stayed before. The owner told him that his pension is now closed (yes, business has been down so prices are better and no crowds!). But he suggested that we stay at the Eucalyptus. I liked it and thought others might too...
