spending money

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi all taking the family (2 adults 2 kids) to fiji in October, accommodation already booked just wondering as a guide what we would be looking at spending a day $ wise .Is $100 a day an average amount, any input received favourably.

Thanks

Realy depends on where you will be, what is included in the accomodation package and what other activities you want to do.
How about a bit more info?

Cheers,
Peter

sorry about that, kids 10yrs and 7yrs old ,we are staying at the radisson resort this time not big eaters. This time would like to do a few touristy things , would like to visit one of the islands , we are booked on sigatoka river safari. Our first time to fiji playing it safe this time will probably get off the beaten track next time we come to fiji.

Thanks

A day visit to an Island including lunch will be F$110 to 160 for adults and 55 - 100 for kids from Denarau.
Meals in Denarau probably cost 50%+ more than Nadi and double where we are, so the "safer" you play it, the more expensive it will be. We can eat out for F$30 for the 2 of us including a beer or 2.
Take a ride on a local bus. They are very cheap and an entertaining way of seeing the countryside. You will need to change busses at the Queens Road intersection. Ask the driver where to get off. From there it is F$5.80 per adult for the ride to Lautoka that takes around 50 minutes. Take a stroll around the market and shops. and then get the bus home again. Especially fun on a Saturday when all the locals are in town, but avoid Sunday as it virtually closes down.
Answer.........a great day out could cost F$600 or F$100..........up to you.
Just take a few 'chances' and enjoy.

Cheers,
Peter

If you look like getting up to Lautoka, give us a call on 9923399 the day before, if possible.
