Somewhere for dinner between Applecross and Skye

Country forums / UK & Ireland / Scotland

We're staying in a cottage in Applecross for a week at the end of April, and one day we're driving to Skye for the day and back as none of us have visited before...any recommendations for somewhere we could stop for dinner on the way back, perhaps back on the mainland? We're travelling with parents and won't want to cook in the evening as we'll be getting back late.

They like nice country pubs, that sort of thing (nothing too posh or expensive, and not seafood).

Thanks for your thoughts

(Equally any lunch suggestions whilst we're on Skye would be welcomed).

Thanks Pedro, some possible options there

There's basically only a couple of places with very much in the way of anything between Kyle and Applecross, being Plockton as #1 suggests, and Lochcarron, where you'll find not quite as much as Plockton. The settlement at Lochcarron is rather spread out, I think it claims to be the longest village in Scotland.
