Solar de Uyuni Tour from Uyuni (please advise)

I will be arriving in Uyuni late January 2nd and would like to do the 3day/2night Solar de uyuni Tour with one of the agencies in Uyuni itself. Firstly I haven't had the best of luck with a couple of tours just recently so, can anyone suggest a company they had a good experience with, or even ones to avoid? Secondly, has recent weather affected the tours yet? And thirdly, I read on a previous post that most companies stop tours from 23 dec to Jan 6th. Can that be confirmed or denied? I don't really want to hang out in Uyuni until Jan 6th if that is the case. Thanking you's.

The Dakar Rally is supposed to pass through Uyuni on 12-13 January, and this is expected to draw gazillions of people. See recent thread at
