Smell of Cooking Blueberries Once AgainInterest forums / Get Stuffed
So long since I smelled cooking Blueberries in my house-been in this place almost 20 years and never done anything with them. Last year I swore that this year I'd find some on special somewhere and Do Something -Lo & Behold there were 5# cases for only $6.99 @ a local discounter so I snagged a couple and hauled them back-waistline doesn't need pastry so jam it was and What a Smell!!! In the end 19 x 250ml jrs for 14 bucks plus a pittance for sugar (I use very little). It's just freezer jam so it's a tad runny but I can live with that. Next up is Blackberry but I'll need to buy some more jars I suppose. Anyone else making jam this year?
Picking blueberries (in the wild) has always been popular here. They're also sold along the roads from local villagers. | 1
I decided this year that I had too much of a backlog of jam to make any more until I ate up or gave away at least half of what's on my shelves. | 2
Blueberries are good for your memory. So I bought some blueberry liqueur for my Grandma. I've never found fig jam in the shops so people in my family sometimes make that and I steal a few jars. | 3
I analyse writing for a living, hnth/DD. I find Chomsky fascinating. Yourselves? | 4
I've always assumed you found us fascinating, tony, but I can't say for sure. | 5
Who, Vinny, are the us ? (I'm off to support democracy in Ecuador.) | 6
My "us" = your "yourselves". | 7
I occasionally edit for a living, Tony. I've only briefly encountered Chomsky so I'm guessing I'm missing an allusion/insinuation? And democracy is over-rated. It's just freezer jam so it's a tad runny | 8
And democracy is over-rated. Agreed, hatz: take Thatcher: the Lady had a landslide victory when two-thirds did not vote for her. As a socialist, I'm in favour of a benevolent dictatorship :) | 9
