Skiing in Argentina - Bariloche or Ushuaia??

Country forums / South America / Argentina

Im wanting to ski the first week of July, from all reports last year was a bad season and only Ushuaia had decent snowfall. I´m going to be travelling down from BA, seems like no airlines are flying in, I´m presuming the airport closes at that time of year, does anyone know how long it takes to bus it from BA? Any idea yet whether skiing Cerro Catedral near Baroliche will be worth it in the next month or so?
Thanks!

My friend living in Bariloche advised me for skiing Bariloche, Cerro Bayo and San Martin de los Andes

There are 2 or 3 flights a day to Ushuaia from BA but at this time of the year they are well booked in advance. depending on the dates, there are still osme places free. Actually in ushuaia there is already quite a lot of snow in the mountains and Cerro castor will open in 15th of june. Bariloche is a bigger resort but if they have bad snow conditions, you will have a long time to go up and going down. If you need any specific advice send me a PM.
