Siwa Oasis - is it safe to travel?

Hello,
Has anyone been recently to Oasis Siwa? How safe is to travel there in mid-august, considering what's going on in Egypt?
Any advice or recommendation is welcome.

Did you get any further info? I'm hoping to travel to Siwa from Alex on Thurs 15th. Siwa will be fine - I have been there many times though not in last year. It's more Alex I am concerned about. Was thinking of staying in hotel near to Borg el Arab airport, approx 30 km from Alex and hiring private driver from Siwa to come and collect me in teh morning. As a lone woman I have to take extra care with all the sexual harrassment. Was even considering dressing as man! I miss the heady days of freewheeling to Siwa on the overnight bus with never a care in the world except for how surprisingly cold it might get ( Not in Aug though). Where are you travelling from?

well i gave up Egypt last summer, but will go again in ten days, beginning of january for two weeks. Zeneb, did you tavel there? how was it?
