Seeing Victoria falls from Zambia and ZimbabweCountry forums / Africa / Zambia
Hi I am doing an organised trip in Africa and included in the trip is a visit to Vic Falls on the Zambia side. Since I am going in October I hear that the falls are going to be pretty dry so I would like to visit them on the Zimbabwe side. I know that a day trip to Zimbabwe will require me to purchase a visa for ZImbabwe and a multi entry visa for Zambia. Will I also need to pay park fees in Zimbabwe and if so how much and does anyone know how much a taxi would cost from Livingstone to the falls? It all seems to be adding up. Thanks A
The entry fee for the falls on the Zimbabwe side is now $30 US. To get from Livingston to the border, you can take a public minibus for around 50 cents and walk across the border. Not sure how much a taxi would cost... | 1
You can also book a return transfer (normally with the accommodation provider you staying with) for about USD20 but public transport as #1 mentioned (it's actually USD1) in Zambia is pretty safe and the people are helpful, honest (mostly) and friendly. Good luck! | 2
Thanks guys. Do you know if I can get a Zimbabwe visa when I cross the border or do I need to buy it in advance? A | 3
Most people can get Zimbabwe visas on the border, but not everybody. The question depends on your nationality... check one of the embassy websites, as they have lists of who needs what. If you're from the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc, you most likely can get the visa on the border. | 4
