Secure VPN internet connection while in ThailandCountry forums / Thailand / Thailand
Will be vacationing in Thailand for a few weeks. Sure appreciate help in this area.
Maybe post this on Tech Branch. | 1
Maybe ask your IT department | 2
if it works at home then it will likely work elsewhere, but as above, check with the people who set it up .... | 3
VPN's should work anywhere you can get internet. The location given by the VPN service should make no real difference. Internet can be a bit hit and miss in Thailand in places. If you use shared internet and do not have your own router, then people could spy on what you are doing (ie: what keys you use). | 4
hmm, thank you Cyberia; second time now I've heard mention of a router, a 'travel router' that might be best for me to purchase. For more security. Thanks much! | 5
If you are just checking email, simple mail client like Outlook is secure enough. While VPN tunnel, I would avoid cafe wireless or guesthouse wireless. Use direct wired Ethernet from "big" hotel, even that their firewall is rather weak in my opinion. | 6
