Hello everybody, | ||

Don't let naysayers like this guy get you down. It may be difficult to find a good volunteer posting, but the above reply is simply poor reasoning. Did the original poster say anything about getting paid? Are all of "the locals" reading thorn tree regularly too and thereby becoming jaded about the glut of posts? | 2

If you've searched the net you have probably come across it but...www.volunteersouthamerica.net/ is excellent for low cost and free volunteering in SA which are pretty grass root and non commerical. In Cusco i worked with street kids for for a while but it was only a few hours a day, there are others listed on the website that provide more involved work. I noticed organisations like InsightArgentina take qualified volunteers without a fee and i imagine it would be the case with many others. I've done other projects in the Sacred Valley and i have never recieved anything but gratitude and i think there is a great distinction between those who might head out to SA as if it were Australia looking for paid work, and those who are trying to make a contribution to the community rather than take jobs and gloat about their superiority. I agree with the previous post, by all means look for social work opportunities, from what i have seen your offer will be most appreciated. good luck! | 4
Comienzo con el español..... En Lima encontraras a South American Explorers (SAE), quien te puede brindar mucha información, hasta puedes colaborar como voluntaria. El administrador es un Ingles muy divertido. | 5
