Scoot Airlines to Europe

Scoot Airlines now fly to Athens from Oz via SIN.

Opening specials for $369 one way from Oz. From mid-2017.

Cheapest I could find from Melbourne was $418 one way- still cheap

I would love to fly Scoot if only they provided VFF (Velocity FF) points on their flights.
Granted though, J business with them for cheaper than QFF J is quite good, I need my space on the plane more so than lounge access.
Knowing how bad JQ (Jetstar) can be. Now, Scoot can't be as bad as that bad, eh?
Until Scoot brings in VFF, I am stuck flying with QFF.

Frequent flyer points are great if you are getting them for nothing, i.e. it's the route you were going to take anyway. Your points however, can work out to be very expensive if you are tailoring your routings just to accumulate them. Not a smart move.

I have never seen the point of FF points.

The only time I have ever got anything from a points system has been on my credit card which gives me $100 a year for purchases made, which covers the annual cost of the card.

Being a CBR resident, these deals never ever work out cheap for me, because I have to position myself to SYD, MEL or elsewhere. However I have no issues earning FF points. I may have occasionally paid $100 more for a fare to earn thousands of points, but I've also had many many upgrades worth a lot more. I save far more money when travelling on accomodation and transport than I could trying to save a few dollars on airfares.

$400 one way is too steep for me. I will be coming to New Zealand from se asia or oceania depending on which flight is cheapest to New Zealand. I am coming overland from Europe, exploring Asia and then coming South for the flight to NZ.

Can anyone clue me in, as to from which country the cheapest round trip flights are to New Zealand? Thanks so much:)

It is likely that your cheapest return trip to NZ could be had from Australia but then you have to get here first but have a look at sites like Webjet or Attitude Travel and see what you can get them to show - just a bit of searching needed, Bangkok having what were commonly referred to as bucket shops on Khao San Rd. in backapacker mecca if they are still operating. Also, if heading for Bali, you might find some cheap flights to Oz from there, but $400 one way Oz to Athens too steep!

They aren't going to scoot off with your hard earned $$$$ are they Raki? and are they a subsidiary of another airline or just a newbie cheapie starting up?

Should be based in Singapore-- they are the LCC of Singapore Airlines.

Earlier this year I flew with SCOOT from Singapore to Melbourne and found it to be a good experience. SCOOT used lovely Dreamliners on this route, and I put myself in Business up the front as it was not all that much more than cattle class. Keep in mind that Business in a LCC is not the same as Business in Qantas and the like.

No oZ to Athens one way $400 is not steep at all I was referring to $400 from my se Asian destination. Thank You so much this answer really helps I will start my research tomorrow.:)
