| carioca23:41 UTC14 Jun 2007 | Hi to all, I am going to be spending two months in Sao Paulo (taking a class and doing research for my dissertation) and needed to know how much should I expect to pay for rent. I'll be looking to share an apt with other grad students. The University (Mackenzie) is in the neighborhood of Higienpolis-Concencao. I've never been to SP so just by looking at a map I see that Bela Vista and Santa Cecilia are "close" by. Any idea on how much I should expect to pay for rent in one of these "bairros"? brigada

From the regiao drop down menu select Zona Sul for Concepcao and Zona Oeste Hygienopolis. This will give you a guide to rental prices.
Gringos.com will probably have some room listings too.

You can find places as cheap as 400 each (one apt just in front of Mackenzie costs about it - I have a friend who lives there). Higienopolis is known to be a classy jewish neighbouhood -expect to pay much more if you wanna be there. I'm sure you won't have a problem to find a place. There a many students who come from other cities in Sao Paulo. If you need anything, just let me know. I'm always near Mackenzie.
